Get moving! More than 50 percent of American men and women do not get enough physical activity to provide health benefits. For adults, thirty minutes of moderate physical activity on most, preferably all, days of the week is recommended.

The mission of the Office of Epidemiology and Health Promotion (OEHP) is to ensure healthier communities across West Virginia through promoting healthier lifestyles, managing health information, and decreasing disease, injury, disability, and premature death.

The West Virginia Department of Education’s Office of Healthy Schools’ mission is to provide leadership, training and support for schools and their communities designed to improve collaboration and ensure the health and educational achievement of children in a safe, nurturing and disciplined environment. OEHP works closely with the Department of Education in the areas of tobacco prevention, nutrition, physical activity, and HIV/AIDS prevention, as well as, collaboration on data analysis.
