Mission

The mission of the Office of Epidemiology and Health Promotion (OEHP) is to ensure healthier communities across West Virginia through promoting healthier lifestyles, managing health information, and decreasing disease, injury, disability, and premature death.

Health Promotion & Chronic Disease

TheDivision of Health Promotion and Chronic Disease is one of four Divisions within the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health's Office of Epidemiology and Health Promotion. The individual programs within the Division strive to reduce death and disability due to chronic disease and injury, and their associated risk factors.

The programs within the Division of Health Promotion and Chronic Disease address many of the West Virginia Healthy People 2010 Objectives by developing partnerships, organizing data, developing specific strategic plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions. Policy, environment, and systems-wide changes are a primary focus of these programs.
